Arriving in the capital of Yukon Territory, we stopped at the edge of town to walk across the swinging bridge at Miles Canyon.
The drive into town from there took us up to an overlook high above the canyon and it's beautiful aqua rushing waters.
And past float plane tours taking off.
Upon entering town, we watched a historical film of sternwheelers hauling freight from Whitehorse to Dawson Creek, where we'll be traveling to by road (brutal road, we've heard). Then we toured the SS Klondike sitting by that beautiful clear Yukon river.
Next stop was the fish ladder by the dam where we saw red salmon, trout, and grayling pooling at the bottom of the falls to jump up the wooden ladder.

We found a nice turnout to eat supper and camp on next to Twin Lakes. The younger girls made mud pies and waded a bit while the elders relaxed by the water.
nice post
