Then on down the road a little ways is Slab City, USA...
There are actually streets to make a sort of town. Off grid and way out in the boonies, yet they have lots of visitors. We didn't see many people out, though one lady was trying to corral her 2 dogs. She was a bit hysterical that we might hit them as they had a brand new litter to nurse. Shannon stopped at the mission and chatted with the fellow that leads a Bible study. He also stopped at the man's place who sold solar panels. Interesting, but no thanks!
